Caryl Baker Oil Control & Oil Infusion Line Review

TheMJElle_CBVisage_Oil Infusion Oil Control

No matter your skin type, ensuring overall healthy oil control is a key element to good skin, be it minimizing oil production or addition oil to dry skin. Your skins relationship with oil also changes throughout the seasons, especially as the cooler weather hits and the need for heating often dries us out. It’s important to take just as much for your skin as you would for your fall wardrobe, and watch how it reacts to the temperature changes.

Most of us begin to reach for hydrating moisturizing products to keep our skin from getting dry and flakey come mid-September. Although it is true that you shouldn’t be consistently changing your skincare products, as it can cause issues, switching the main products you use seasonal is okay and actually encouraged.

A few weeks ago I was invited to Breakfast with Caryl Baker Visage at Planta Toronto to discover their new range of foundations and skincare lines for the Flawless Collection launch. I had such a great time meeting local beauty bloggers and influencers, tasting all the yummy plant-based eats and of course discovering their new product launches.

Although I was blown away by their new medium coverage Natural Finish Foundation range, I was definitively more intrigued by the new Oil Control and Oil Infusion lines, part of the Flawless Collection. The Oil Control and Oil Infusion lines are a total of 5 products that go to the basics of skincare, and all compliment each other perfectly. They’ve gone back to the key components of skincare and have formulated a range of skin care products I’ve been extremely excited about using, and even more excited about sharing them with you.

Caryl Baker Oil Control & Oil Infusion Lines

Oil Control Clarifying Cleanser

Caryl Baker’s new Oil Control Clarifying Cleanser is perfect for those with oily or combination skin. It’s definitively been very welcomed by my combination skin during these last few hot and humid weeks. I love the consistency of the gel cleanser that lightly foams but definitely spreads generously over the face, so a little goes a long way (I use 2-3 pumps myself). This cleanser works to absorb excess oil and clear clogged pores with ingredients like Peppermint, Green Tea, Witch Hazel and Eucalyptus. I usually find for me that sometimes cleansers with these ingredients can sometimes leave my skin feeling dry and slight tight but I haven’t had that yet with this Oil Control Clarifying Cleanser

Oil Control Purifying Toner

Other than cleansing, I think toning was the second skincare routine I started with as a young teen. Toning was definitively a big skincare trend in the late 90’s into the early 2000’s that really is less of a trend and more of a key component to good skin health. Caryl Baker’s Oil Control Purifying Toner is the perfect follow up to their Clarifying Cleanser. It users similar ingredients as the Oil Control Clarifying Cleanser making it a great toner to sooth skin while also helping to heal blemishes. I use this toner on target areas with breakouts or excess oil build up.

Oil Control Protective Moisturizer

We don’t usually associate oil control with moisturizers, but this one from Caryl Baker does that and more. Made with the same group of ingredients as the toner and cleanser, it also has an SPF 15 thanks to mineral ingredients. I also love that the Oil Control Protective Moisturizer is free of oils, parabens or fragrances and is also hypoallergenic making it suitable for more sensitive skin types. It applies and absorbs really well and works great as a base for makeup, letting you skip that extra step of priming.

Oil Infusion Facial Cleanser

I don’t usually use cleanser with oils in them because of my eyelash extensions, but when my skin is needing hydration especially in the winter time, I actually love using oil cleansers like the Oil Infusion Facial Cleanser. This oil formula works to attract oils, dirt and other impurities from the skin to cleanse while pumping mega moisture back in. Thanks to oils like Jojoba, Safflower and Jasmine your skin is left smooth and soft without feeling greasy! This is definitively a cleanser that’s staying in my bathroom this winter to fight off dry skin.

Oil Infusion Facial Oil

Face oils are something I’ve starting using more recently mainly because I figured my combination skin could use without extra oils, causing breakouts. But as I’ve gotten more and more into skincare, and done my own research on healthy skin balance, I realize that oils are just as important as your cleansers or serums. This Oil Infusion Facial Oil is pretty much a miracle in a bottle. Your skin is instantly infused with ultra moisturizing oils like Jojoba and Safflower but isn’t left feeling greasy or heavy making it a great facial oil for daytime use.
