Denim Jackets Under $100

I know we’re all here dying from the heat wave this summer while trying to take in every last day of the season but let’s face it, it’s slowly coming to an end. Fall is near and those cooler mornings and nights will slowly start creeping up, meaning only one thing: layers are coming back! Although I’m all for the summer and sunshine I’m a huge sucker when it comes to fall fashion, and I’m always eager to bring out cool weather clothes. I especially love pre-fall where our summer favourites can be paired with ankle boots and denim jackets for a month or two.

Jackets have got to be one of my guilty pleasures, and Peter doesn’t mind because it’s probably his too. Between blazers, parkas, leather jackets and bombers, we own well over 40 outwear pieces that we rotate out of our closets season to season. Call it obsessive, but jackets truly do allow you to work with basic wardrobe pieces that you can mix and match to create totally different looks.

One of my favourite outwear pieces for the end of summer into fall has to be denim jackets. I currently own 4 myself, however throughout the years have probably owned over a dozen. Denim jackets can bring so many different vibes to an outfit from casual to edgy and are just one of those pieces that never really go out of style. Throw it over a summer jumpsuit, workout clothes or your favourite LBD for girls’ night out; there are very few outfit options where a denim jacket doesn’t work.

Whether you’re looking to add a denim jacket to your closet, or are looking for something new, I’ve picked out 5 of my favourite denim jackets, all under $100!

Denim Jackets Under $100

1. Embellished Denim

Forever 21 Sequin Denim Jacket, $50

Everyone loves a good statement jacket, and embellished denim is a fun way to make a statement. This Forever 21 Sequin Denim Jacket has that bold playful Gucci vibe to it with its gold and white details on the back shoulders, but kept it simple everywhere else with a classic denim jacket fit to balance it out.I suggest pairing this with your favourite band t-shirt for a night out!

2. Classic Denim

H&M Denim Jacket, $24.99 (on sale!)

If you’re looking for a classic denim jacket, look no further than this one from H&M that I actually own myself (pictured above). It’s a regular fit in a washed denim that comes in 6 different colours. I got mine a size up to have a bit of an oversized fit to it, and have it work well with sweaters underneath for the fall. A few colours are on sale right now starting at $24.99 so if you’re like me and own a few denim jackets already, you won’t feel bad adding another to your closet!

3. Oversized Denim

Missguided Oversized Denim Jacket, $74 at ASOS

If you ask me, I think everyone needs a proper oversized denim jacket. I of course own one myself, that was actually my moms from the 90’s. They work great with everything from jeans and a body suit for date night to shorts and a tank top for weekends spent up at the cottage. This Missguided one is probably one of the better oversized denim jackets I’ve seen and looks like it’s straight from a 1990’s supermodel’s closet.

4. Cropped Denim

Topshop Distressed Cropped Denim Jacket, $95 at Hudson’s Bay

Cropped cuts add a bit of femininity to denim jackets and are perfect for the summer and pre-fall seasons. I love the raw hem on this Topshop denim jacket that gives a bit of edginess to the rest of this classic style jacket. You can also transition this jacket into the colder months and channel your inner grunge kid by wearing a flannel shirt underneath it.

5. Distressed Denim

Zara Oversized Denim Jacket, $80

Distressed denim has got to be my favourite way to wear jeans. It’s probably one of the few trends in denim that never truly goes out of style, whether it’s massive distressing or cleaner raw hems. I’ve always loved Zara’s denim jackets and this one would for sure be one I’d add to my closet, if I didn’t already own a distressed denim jacket. If you’re loving this jacket as much as I am, I suggest you hop on that quickly because Zara’s denim jackets are known to be a favourite item and sell out fast!
