Kimonos and robe style jackets are one of my favourite style trends year round, but especially for summer, because they literally go with anything. I’m always into a good statement piece that you can wear over and over, while changing up the look each time. Besides, when else can you look so put together while basically still in your PJs? There are so many different styles and fabrics to choose from when it comes to kimonos that can add a bit of edgy, boho or sexy to your outfit. And even with the same style kimono, depending on how and what you wear it with can make all the difference. If you’re going with a printed kimono, pair it with pieces from your closet that are minimal and can let the kimono stand out by itself.
Kimonos are such a great way to add a layering element to your outfit or help complete your look during the summer without leaving you overheating, especially if you go with one made from a lighter material like lace or silk. There are so many different ways you can wear kimonos all summer long which is why I recommend everyone own at least one for their summer wardrobes. Kimonos work great over dresses, paired with denim shorts and a tank or even over your bathing suit while lounging poolside, and I can’t think of any occasion where kimonos don’t work to complete an outfit. Have I convinced you yet on kimonos? Checkout some of my favourite styles below!
Kimonos To Take You From Pool Side to Date Night
Wilfred Durante Jacket
This is one of the kimonos I actually own and I always get so many compliments whenever I wear it. I love the hand clipped floral jacquard that adds an element of interest to the minimal style. It’s also made from super lightweight cotton blend material that makes this the perfect kimono to wear on warmer days. It has a removable tie belt that I usually just leave tied in the back, and big deep pockets which I love having on kimonos. It’s also available in white and grey for those looking to wear lighter colours for the summer.
