Mother’s Day is just over a week away and no one deserves to be spoiled more than mom, right? Moms always do so much for the family and it’s not often that there’s a day just for them to kick back and relax. From balancing work, family and everything in between is no easy task and can be a bit tiring. Mother’s Day is that one day a year we show the person who devotes everything to us just how much they’re appreciate from brunch in bed to dinner and a night out on the town with the ones she loves the most.
If your mom is anything like mine, the usual answer to what she wants for Mother’s Day probably sounds something like “just to spend time with you”, and although I can admit time is the most precious gift sometimes it just isn’t enough for mom. If you’re crafty you might have the luxury of putting together a great DIY project for Mother’s Day that mom is sure to love but not everyone has the time or talent to put something together beyond a macaroni picture (which we’re sure mom has more than enough of thanks to our kindergarten years). So for those needing a little inspiration on what to get mom for Mother’s Day I’ve got my picks for gifts she’s sure to love.

100 Years of Love Candle
Give mom a hint that she should take a little more “me time” this year, and give her a Mother’s Day gift to help her set a relaxing mood at home. Candles always make the home feel cosy and add beautiful fragrances to any room. I personally have a bit of a guilty pleasure when it comes to luxury candles and I discovered 100 Years of Love, a Toronto based home fragrance brand, at the One Of A Kind Show last fall. 100 Years of Love uses premium soy wax, 100% cotton and lead-free wicks and high quality fragrances in each of their candles. My personal favourites from their collection are Nomad, Burn Baby Burn, For The Love Of Gold and Raj Of Love, but maybe a more on-theme pick for Mother’s Day is Femme Fatale, a rose scented candle.

Berry Blush Flowers
I have to admittedly say there are very few gift guides where I wouldn’t include a floral arrangement, they just make such great gifts for any occasion especially for those people who don’t love getting material gifts. Good friends of mine Berry Blush always have the most stunning floral arrangements at a wide range of price points to meet everyone’s budget. One of my favourite Mother’s Day gift ideas from Berry Blush are their Eternal Rose boxes, preserved roses that last for up to 3 years that come in a few different arrangement options. In addition to their Eternal Roses, Berry Blush has their annual Mother’s Day collection starting at $35. This year the Mother’s Day collection will feature a mixed flower bouquet in Berry Blush’s signature flower box available in pink, pastel, neutral and lavender colour ways. More details on their Mother’s Day collection and other arrangements are available on their website. Berry Blush delivers across the GTA, or you can pick up at their studio in Leslieville, and they will also be hosting a Mother’s Day Pop-Up at Lululemon Yorkdale from with select arrangements available; stay tuned to my Instagram for official dates and times.

Calvin Klein Rise Yellow Gold Bracelet Watch
With the rise of smartphones, watches seem to serve more of an accessory purpose than time telling so looks are everything. The Calvin Klein timepiece collection is filled with stunning watches that make great Mother’s Day gift picks. One of my favourites from their spring collection is the Rise Yellow Gold Bracelet watch with it’s dual textured face and a wrist band that’s part cuff bracelet half linked allowing it to sit on the wrist perfectly. It’s minimal and sleek design makes this watch a timeless piece that mom is sure to wear for years to come.

Atelier Cologne Perfume
I received a sample of Atelier Cologne a year ago and was blown away by their fragrances. Crafted in France, their fresh and elevated fragrances are all free of parabens, sulfates, paraffins, GMOs, added colours and are 100% vegan. The one thing I loved about Atelier Cologne is their perfumes are bold and long-lasting without being over powerful, a sign of the high quality ingredients used to create these scents. I recently was gifted a bottle of their Orange Sanguine which is a blood orange dominate fragrance with notes of sandalwood and geranium, a scent I’m looking forward to wearing this summer. My mom also got a gift set last year and although she’s not a big perfume person she enjoyed the scents when she does wear them, with Orange Sanguine being one of them. Their wide range of fragrances makes it easy to find a Mother’s Day gift that fits your mom style and preference, plus they also offer a few different engraving options to personalize your gift even more.
