Spring beauty time is here and this transitional period in our daily routines couldn’t be more welcomed. We spent the last few months of cold focusing on moisturizing and hydrating our skin, so the warm months ahead means our spring beauty priorities can start to shift. Just like in the fall, spring is a time to switch up your products and prepare your skin and hair for the sunny days ahead. Every part of our routine changes for spring beauty adding more focus on sun protection, light makeup looks and fresh fragrances to help bring us out of winter hibernation.
My main focuses when it comes to spring beauty is preparing my skin for lighter makeup applications, and long days spent in the sun. For my skin care this means exfoliating, purifying and balancing my skin to get it ready for minimal makeup which is my go-to for spring and summer. I don’t change too much of my hair care routine for the summer but the warm weather can leave my hair a little lifeless, so any boost of volume I can get is appreciated. I’ve been using the following products now for a few weeks and have loved including them in my spring beauty routine.
Spring Beauty Must-Haves
Bite Agave+ Weekly Lip Scrub
I don’t like to wear a lot of makeup as the weather heats up but one thing I cannot live without is lipstick and everyone knows the start of a good lipstick, is a good base to apply it on. It’s especially important when using matte formulas and liquid lipsticks because the lip’s texture shows more than with a glossier finish. So prepping your lips for the summer is a necessity in your spring beauty routine. I’ve used Bite’s Agave+ Weekly Lip Scrub for just over a year now and out of all the lip scrubs I’ve tried, it’s hands down one of my favourites. I love that this is a 3-in-1 product that exfoliates, cleanses and nourishes your lips leaving them soft and refreshed ready for your favourite lipstick. It uses sugar to exfoliate that gives it a delicious sweet taste and because this product is all natural you don’t have to worry if you end up eating a bit. My only complaint so to speak is that it’s in a little jar making it hard to get out if you have long nails, which I struggled with for a bit. But a little hack I discovered is to tip the jar slightly and the product slowly pours out onto your finger.

Ellis Brooklyn Rives Perfume
I recently discovered Ellis Brooklyn fragrances after the brand kindly scent me one of their perfumes and they’ve quickly become a favourite of mine. All of Ellis Brooklyn’s fragrances are paraben-free, phthalates-free, cruelty-free, eco-friendly and made with only the best ingredients. One of my favourite scents for my spring beauty routine is Rives, a masculine inspired scent that invokes the French Riviera. This unisex scent has notes of neroli, lavender, petitgrain, cashmere woods and white suede that all pairs together to create a fresh, floral scent that is perfect for the spring but isn’t overly feminine. Don’t be too surprised if your man steals a spray or two.

Marc Anthony Dream Big Volume Volumizing Super Powder
Saying goodbye to our winter hats means saying hello to big hair styles. Marc Anthony’s Dream Big Volume line focuses on nourishing the hair while creating volume with a wide range of products. One of my favourites from the collection is their Volumizing Super Powder that helps bring life to flat hair effortlessly. It’s a root boosting powder that works to deliver body from the root down for up to 24 hours. I love using this to help bring volume to waves or applied before braiding hair to add some thickness and texture, and is a must in my spring beauty arsenal.

YSL Beauty Volupté Plump-in-Color Plumping Lip Balm
I have completely fallen in love with YSL Beauty’s Volumpté lipsticks that are packed with oils to not only colour the lips but also nourish them. The Volupté Plum-in-Color Plumping Lip Balms are no exception and are probably one of my favourite lip plumping products I’ve used in a while, and trust me I’ve tried many. Unlike most lip plumpers on the market you don’t get any burning, tingling or redness on the lips rather you’re left with a cooling feeling and slight plumpness thanks to Peppermint Oil. You’re left with hydrated and smooth lips with the slightest bit of volume. YSL Beauty’s Volupté Plum-in-Color Plumping Lip Balms come in 8 shades, but my favourites for spring have to be n.1 Mad Nude, and n.7 Furious Gold a beautiful champagne colour with shimmer, the perfect glowing nude lip for your spring beauty routine.
Odacité Rose + Neroli Hydra-Vitalizing Treatment Mist
Odacité has fast become one of my favourite skin care brands of all time, and there isn’t a day that goes by where I’m not using at least one of their products. From cleansing to skin treatments, Odacité has a product to help with almost every skin concern imaginable. Vogue named Odacité’s Rose + Neroli Hydra-Vitalizing Treatment Mist as their pick for the best face mist for your skin and I couldn’t agree more, as it works to not only hydrate and refresh your skin but also balances your skin, minimizes pores and helps reduce the appearance of breakouts. It’s multiple benefits for your skin is why it’s one of my spring-beauty must-haves to help give you the best skin yet. I love using this mist before priming my skin for makeup, or at night after cleansing before applying serums and moisturizers.
