Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and although I love getting spoiled as much as the next girl I’ve always taken Valentine’s Day to show my man some appreciation. I don’t do this as some sort of feminist statement showing I don’t need to be the damsel swept off my feet… but rather because I’m lucky enough to have a guy that spoils me 365 days a year, so I take Valentine’s Day as a time to spoil him back. And in all honesty, the thought of paying for an overpriced preset menu while being crammed in a restaurant and rushed through your meal to make way for the next suckers isn’t how I want to spend my Valentine’s Day so we often opt for a nice home cooked dinner and a bottle of wine (or 2) instead.
Most don’t think of Valentine’s Day gift guides for him when talking about February 14th, but taking care of the men in our life is just as important as making sure they spoil you back. Men are a little trickier to shop for when it comes to Valentine’s Day because for the most part they could care less about a long stem roses or chocolate covered strawberries. But be as it may, there are still so many great gift ideas that are just the thing to show the special man in your life how much he means to you. I took it upon myself to make your shopping that much easier and came up with some great Valentine’s Day gifts for him!
Valentine’s Day Gifts for Him
The 48 Laws of Power
This book is a powerhouse it’s really no surprise. The 48 Laws of Power is a book for those looking for insights on how to gain power for yourself. It was published back in 1998 and since then has sold over 1.2 million copies worldwide, and has been translated into over 20 languages. It’s been a favourite of CEO’s and celebrities alike like 50 cent, who later collaborated with the author Robert Greene to write The 50th Law. It’s definitively a big read to get through, but is the perfect Valentine’s Day gift for the ambitious man in your life.

Calvin Klein Watch
It isn’t just us ladies who deserve some jewellery on Valentine’s Day! Calvin Klein has an amazing collection of jewellery and timepieces for both men and women at affordable prices. Their Minimal collection features simplistic yet elegant watches for men that us women can borrow too *wink*. I love this classic stainless steel watch that works great at the office, on date night or for game day out with the boys. Plus, all their watches are all Swiss-made and are very durable so you’re not only buying design but you’re getting quality too.

John Varvatos Dark Rebel Rider
I featured the John Varvatos Dark Rebel cologne in my Holiday gift guide for him back in December so it’s pretty obvious I’m a huge fan of John Varvatos fragrances. Dark Rebel Rider launched back in 2016 from John Varvatos, and after getting it as a Christmas gift for Peter this year I’m beyond in love with it. It’s a leather based cologne with sweet notes of vanilla and bitter orange and smokey wood, super sexy for Valentine’s Day. It’s an extremely masculine scent but don’t worry ladies, it smells amazing on us too!
Shop: John Varvatos Dark Rebel Rider, $110
Hounds Vodka
Usually when we think of gifting cocktails for men, we immediately run to the Whisky section. But truth be told, men drink other things too. If you’re looking to switch up your usually boozy gift idea, I recommend going with Hounds Vodka. It’s probably the most badass vodka you’ll ever see with as it’s black in colour thanks to the Fulvic trace minerals, which is what caught my attention with this vodka. It goes down super smooth with notes of citrus and vanilla making it a great sipping vodka, and the perfect Valentine’s Day gift for the cocktail enthusiast on your list.
Shop: Hounds Vodka, $39.60 available at the LCBO
Succulents & Plants
Do you have a guy on your list that has it all, but you still want to get him something for Valentine’s Day to show how much he means to you? Unfortunately for us most men aren’t blown away by long stem roses, but you can still head to your local florist for a gift! Succulents and other houseplants that are easy to care for are a great Valentine’s Day gift idea for men. Masculine feeling plants like cacti, succulents, Zanzibar Gems or Fiddle-Leaf Fig trees are all great options to go for that he’s sure to love. I love going to Jong Young Flower Market at Avenue Rd. and Davenport Rd. in Toronto for their great prices and huge selection of plants, cacti and succulents.
Shop: Succulent Garden, $40 available at Jong Young Flower Market
Don’t worry ladies, if you’re looking to hint some inspiration to your man this year I’ll have my Valentine’s Day gifts for her up coming soon, so stay tuned!
